This month, Echidna has shipped what could be the most powerful diamond rocksaw ever constructed.

Designed by George Fischer, and built in Czech Republic, this new D62 has been initially fitted with 3m diameter blades and a motor power of 570kW.

With 3.5 m blades, this dual blade rocksaw will have a maximum cutting depth of 1500mm. The diamond blades have a minimum spacing of 550mm and it can be adjusted to a maximum spacing of 2.5m between blades.

When it arrives in Canada, this rocksaw will be put to work on a 45 tonne excavator.
